Going once.... Going twice..... SOLD!!!

Welcome to the first annual Scalise Reunion Auction... for those who actually remembered to bring items. Thanks to Jimmy and Renae who contributed this GREAT idea from the Garlick reunion. And since it was they're idea...they were the auctioneers!

Here's Tyler attempting to get more bids! Emma and "Peanut" help Jimmy and Renae keep a watchful eye out for bids!

This is what a family auction looks like. From the back row. I figured standing on the table would definitely get the majority of the family in the picture! Hm...sometimes I'm actually right! No idea what the bidding was on, but I'm almost certain it was that marvelous quilt from Lisa that Renae just couldn't keep her hands off!!

Jimmy....

He wheels. He deals. He makes change... and he delivers! This little gem went to the King of Margaritas! Pretty cool indeed!

Almost as interesting as the "spittoon" that Tyler and my dad (Chuck or Charlie, depending on who you talk to) had a bidding war over! Dad prevailed! Now, it's a kitten toy. LOL!

Can't wait to see what's in store for next year! Maybe I'll even remember.

It's all fun and games til somebody... no, nobody got hurt..

This was new for the reunion. Games.. it's been a long time coming. And I'm so glad everyone participated!! Here's the "tape game"... the object? Well, to get the roll of tape on the top of the cone using (insert gasp) teamwork! Yes, it is most definitely an experience! 5 team members each hold a string and race to line up the tape roll... then, drop it in place as quickly as possible! Some teams work better together than others. I'm still not sure if it's really teamwork or just competitive behavior.

Apparently "corn hole" was a bit confusing...
or that's disbelief. I think it was the "browns vs steelers" that confused everyone. Ooops, sorry. Let the rivalry live on!

The water balloon toss.... pretty self-explanatory. Notice the nice white balloon neatly suspended in mid-air.... sometimes, I'm just good.... lol.
I think the most fun was using the left over balloons. Thanks Tyler for getting my feet wet.... and no, I won't be mad because your Dad told you to.

Who is that? And HOW are we related?

"Crate" had a busy day... everyone was looking at the albums and family info from yesteryear.

Aunt Betty and Uncle June are identifying people from one of the albums... Hey, there's an idea.. Next year... Bring YOUR albums to share!!

Annette's trying to look, but Jimmy's over her shoulder pointing.... somehow, I think this is normal... lol. Lisa took a break from being a shutterbug to see what's going on.... Wonder who they were looking at.

Which brings me to this little piece of family history......

Lisa created this awesome, awesome quilt. Composed of family pictures from years and years of history! She said it took her about 3 weeks...... I don't remember the number of people who said..... "will you make me one?"
Jimmy's getting one from Italian fabric.... I think Lisa needs more pictures for next years quilt! This little baby fetched a cool $102 in the auction. Renae just couldn't resist... considering she was bidding against her own family... lol. Aunt Sue really wanted it too!!

Now we have several new ideas for the auction next year..... watch for the auction blog...

Sitting down to.... talk? or eat?

Sitting down to some good Italian food... This table is mainly filled with our oldest generation. The left is: Uncle Harmon, Aunt Norma, Gary, Aunt Carol and Doc.... The right is: Annette's head, Uncle Frank, Aunt Betty, Uncle Ron and Aunt Carol...and Jeff's head... lol. I think that's Cousin Kevin standing there looking at something....

Looks like so far everyone's having a good time!!

Here's the other side... Marty, who will be very disappointed he's in ANY pictures, Robyn's girl (sorry, the name escapes me) and her friend. Dustin's back, Robyn's back and Annette and Jimmy standing.

Not too sure who's behind Annette, it's a little dark back there.. lol.

Everyone is always so generous bringing their favorite family dishes to share! Sure hope everyone got enough to eat!! Next year we'll be less "beverage" challenged.... Thanks to Renae and Jimmy for running to get some soda and water! Totally appreciated! You guys are awesome!!

Saturday July 12th

And so the story begins..... Picture this.. Albion Boro Park. Pavilion #3. Noon. Tables with white paper covers. Running fridge. Family arriving..... Once a year, we gather to share our memories, our family additions and losses.... to remember those who made getting together possible. And to share lunch!

Cousin Roger (right with Aunt Betty, Rog and Jimmy)brought the good stuff this year! Beef and Pork... bbq. He's awesome! He does pig roasts and pulled pork on weekends for other people, but we were lucky enough to catch him on a weekend that he's available! There was very little left! (in case you want to try anything else (wings!) he makes... he can be found Wednesday nights at Ralphie's in Girard! If you're lucky, you can catch his sister Renae and her hubby Jimmy as well as myself!!)

Here's Uncle Harmon and his wife Norma setting their stuff up! That woman makes an awesome Lemon Meringue Pie!!!
Of course that finger is just pointing to ALL the good food! Gotta love ITALIAN!
I don't think there were many leftovers at all!
